On October 22, 2013, the HMCS in association with other
members of the NINDS organized a surprise birthday lunch party for Dr.Hallett.
We had around 50 guests at the event. Dr.Hallett was very thrilled to see the
gathering. The photo-book was presented to Dr.Hallett by Mrs.Nguyet Dang since
she was the one who worked the longest with him (This year she completes 25
years of service at the HMCS). She mentioned that this present will be very
unique because it has the contributions from almost all members of the HMCS family.
Dr.Hallett was awestruck seeing the contents of the book. He said that this was
a great present that he would cherish and read it very carefully. This was
followed by Dr. Leonardo Cohen’s announcement of a symposium in honor of
Dr.Hallett that is currently being planned by the NINDS. The symposium is expected
to take place in April 2014, when Dr.Hallett will complete 30 years of service
at the institute. Further details on the event will be communicated to you by
